Be-spoke Postnatal Programme

What Our postnatal treatment includes:

  • GBM Full Body Massage that includes Creative Healing:

A full digestive tone-up - the digestive system is usually very delicate after giving birth. This includes treatments for the pancreas and liver.

A female treatment - to help the uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes go back to their pre-pregnant shape, size and tone. Also, the uterus is toned, drained and supported.

Postnatal massage to tone and support the digestive system (including pancreas and liver) and help the uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes return to their pre-pregnancy state. Uterus toning and drainage included.

Note: Synchronised postnatal massage with two practitioners available upon request.

  • Ayurvedic elements

Ayurvedic techniques use herbal Potlis (muslin-bound herbs) to tone skin and reduce subcutaneous fluid retention and cellulite on the thighs, legs, arms, buttocks, and back. The warm, dry herbal Potlis are patted and stroked on the body in a set pattern, sometimes called herbal stamping.

  • Tummy Wrapping

Tummy wrapping supports abdominal organs, reduces bloating, and helps the ribs return to their normal position. Your practitioner will demonstrate how to apply the wrap post-treatment, (positioning it above the C-section scar for cesarean births). It is important to use a tummy wrap between birth and 8 - 12 weeks because the nature of the collagen changes during pregnancy from Type 1 to Type 2 and after the birth slowly changes back to Type 1. So ideally the wrapping needs to be performed from birth 8 to 12 weeks to restore normal abdominal contours. (Note: The Gowri Wrap is an additional cost.)

  • When and how?

Treatments, administered by one or two practitioners, are ideally given two to three times a week for six weeks, but daily sessions can be arranged. Following a normal birth, treatments can begin immediately. After a C-section, Reflexology or GBM Massage using Creative Healing can be administered by our practitioners starting on day two or three. Discuss treatment frequency with your practitioner to determine the best schedule for you.

  • Cost

Two practitioners - synchronized treatment for 1.5 hours: £300

A single practitioner visiting you at home for 2 hours: £200

  • Additional treatments available on request:

Vaginal Fumigation with herbal smoke: £50

Bespoke Postnatal Eating Plan: A home visit and cookery demonstration with our Ayurvedic Doctor can be arranged for 4 hours at £360. (General GBM Dietary Guidelines Postnatally are in the GBM Postnatal Guidelines.)

Postnatal Closing Ceremony: Performed after 40 postnatal days for mothers who have had 2 or more postnatal treatments a week for 6 weeks. This 2-3 hour ceremony, performed by 2 GBM Practitioners and costing £400, includes a full body massage, ceremonial application of sandalwood paste, and a meditative floral warm bath with essential oils and organic flower petals.

  • Note

We kindly ask all clients to arrange for babies to be looked after during treatments so that we can be time-efficient and give you the best possible treatments. Please ensure that babies have been fed just before your practitioner arrives so that there are no interruptions to your treatment.
