4 WEEK LIVE VISUALISATION COURSE

The aim of the Gentle Birth Method Hypnobirth ‘The Gowri Way’ programme is to increase confidence and deepen bonding between mother, father and baby, and remove fear of the birth process.

The 4-week GBM Hypnobirth ‘The Gowri Way’ visualisation course for mothers and couples.

When to start: From around 20 weeks of pregnancy

Course details:

  • Location: Online via Zoom

  • Times: Tuesdays 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm or Saturdays 10:00 am to 11:30 am (UK time)

    • Please note that class dates may occasionally be subject to change depending on the cohort’s availability, to ensure the best possible group experience.

What the course includes:

This live course introduces the mental preparation aspect of the Gentle Birth Method, developed over more than 30 years to support mothers and couples through pregnancy, birth, and recovery.

The live format allows us to respond to the needs of each group, with space for questions, guidance, and individual support throughout.

The course includes:

  • self-hypnosis techniques for daily practice during pregnancy and for birth

  • visualisation techniques to support a calm pregnancy and positive birthing experience

  • birth education through visualisation

  • guidance to encourage optimal positioning of your baby

  • partner massage techniques taught to couples

  • movements for birth, including micro-movements, posture awareness, yoga, and the Alexander technique

  • breathing techniques to help manage surges and contractions

  • pelvic birthing zone preparation using oils and self-stretching techniques

  • guidance on nutrition and suitable supplements

  • tummy wrapping techniques and their benefits

  • pre and postnatal support for mother and baby

  • postnatal recovery, care, and dietary guidance

  • Self-Hypnosis teaches you to mentally switch off from your immediate surroundings and enter a dream world that is safe and calm. You are in an alternate state of awareness where everything around you feels distant and calm - it really is like day-dreaming. In self hypnosis, you are mentally receptive. The positive suggestions given to you along with knowledge of how your body gives birth. Gives you confidence that you have of the power within your body to give birth naturally. This prepares your body and your mind for a confident birth

  • Visualisation helps you to mentally “see” and affect structures within your body e.g. your muscles, your cervix, your birthing zones and promotes hormone balance. You also visualise and communicate with your baby in your womb.

    • Weekly Pregnancy Yoga from when you start the Hypnobirth classes all the way through until you give birth. Our specialised Pregnancy Yoga with Micromovements for Birth includes 30 minutes of GBM Hypnobirth ‘The Gowri Way’ at the end of each session. The yoga classes are held on Wednesdays from 6 -7:30pm. We will send you a Zoom link to join the yoga classes.
